Power generation process: In power plants, capacitors are used for power factor correction to improve the generator's power generation efficiency and power quality. At the same time, it is also used for reactive power compensation of high-voltage transmission lines to reduce line losses.

Transmission and distribution process: In high-voltage transmission lines, series capacitors are used to compensate for the inductance and reactance of the lines, improving transmission capacity and stability; Parallel capacitors are used for reactive power compensation to maintain voltage stability in the power grid. In the distribution system, capacitor banks are used for reactive power compensation to low-voltage users, reducing line losses and improving power supply quality.
